This volume contains several unpublished works by Juan
Eduardo Cirlot : "Pájaros tristes" a
book composed by eleven poems, a sonet entitled "A
Pilar Bayona", and one more poem "A A.
Skrjabin". All of them were dedicated to Pilar
Bayona, pianist, in 1941-1943, the years that Cirlot
spent in Saragossa by reasons of his military service. So all else above,
these texts become one of the catalonian poet and essayist first works. The book includes critical works about the author, the pianist, and the people around them that time, by Antonio Fernández Molina and Antón Castro, and a letter of Luis García-Abrines. From Pilar Bayona Archive, Antonio Bayona and Julián Gómez bring us news about the original documents story, and also a selection of newspaper articles about Pilar Bayona's performance of Ravel's "Oiseaux tristes", interpretation that moved Cirlot to write the book's main work. Graphic documentation is also included, showing some portraits of Pilar Bayona, photographs with Alfonso Buñuel and Luis García-Abrines -as Cirlot friends in Saragossa-, a copy of a Ravel's recital programme, and an unpublished drawing by Cirlot, dedicated to García-Abrines in 1941. |
