Pilar Bayona's niece and nephews with their family |
Going into St. Martin Chapel, the visitor was received in the entrance hall
by a Pilar Bayona's bust by Rallo, and the show began with an informative
poster about the pianist life, followed by a portrait gallery, with
paintings made during the performer lifetime (Guillermo, Ciria,
Lafita, Aranda, Palencia) and some other recent works (Vila, Doral). On the
backgroud wall more than sixty photographies traveled about the life of
Pilar Bayona, from her childhood till her last recital. The visitor could
see her with her family, her friends, and a great number of musicians,
composers and artists. Several exhibitors showed her recordings, and other
documents such as dedicated books, photographies, music scores, mail, all
them from different people (García Lorca, Aleixandre, Buñuel, Cirlot, Jardiel Poncela, Seral y Casas, Turina,
Rodrigo, Esplá, Remacha, Guridi, etc.). The exhibition ended with a
collection of original works, paintings, drawings, caricatures and greeting-cards (Bayo
Marín, Dueñas, Pardiñas, Sanz Lafita, García Abrines). The walls also showed
several texts with sentences and opinions from well known people about the
pianist. The visitor walk went with the background music performed by Pilar Bayona (Franck, Ravel, Bartok and Falla). The main amount of the pieces and documents showed in the exhibition proceeded from Pilar Bayona Archive, that keeps all the professional and social documents belonging to Pilar Bayona |
